Nikolas Rose gave his first lecture at the University of Oxford in 1977. Since then, he has presented at over 230 conferences, symposia and events; exploring what it means to be human and the implications this has for society and government, now and in the future. Rose?s first international lecture was at the Colloquium on Language and Politics at the University of Helsinki in 1988 where, together with Peter Miller, he spoke about the ?Rationalities and technologies of government?. He has since lectured widely throughout Europe, Australia, the Americas and East Asia.

Professor Rose has addressed both academic and non-academic audiences, often as an invited keynote speaker or guest panellist at major international events. Within the UK, he has presented at the annual conferences of leading professional organisations. He has held visiting positions at a number of overseas universities, including the University of Washington, Griffith University, the Australian National University and the University of British Columbia.
